MARMARİS-FÜRTH WALKING PATH


The Marmaris-Furth Walking Path was created to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Twin City Agreement between the Marmaris Municipality and the German, Furth Municipality. The Walking Path is a permanent and beautiful reminder of the long and friendly co-operation between the two Municipalities.

The walking path is formed of several different special track courses that are 20 km long in total and set inside the Marmaris National Park area. The track courses include horseback riding tracks, mountain bike tracks, nature and rambling walking paths and tracks for simply walking your dog for relaxation and pleasure.

When you are within the Marmaris National Park you will be at one with nature. You will be amazed at the varieties of plants and  vegetation all in beautiful natural surroundings.

As a cyclist you can enjoy the ups and downs of the mountain bicycle path.As a walker or rambler you will enjoy the fragrance of the flowers and the stunning views from the summits of the pathways. Horse riders will encounter wild pig tracks crossing the riding tracks.

You will be able to sense the friendship in nature, see the blue sea from up high and enjoy the endless vista of green trees and forests marching into the distance that accompany you on your journey. Stopping at resting points along the way you will be able to take unforgettable photograps of the scenery memories to look back on forever.

You will have the change to see one of the plants out of 514 kinds, insects out of 213 kinds, birds out of 112 kinds, reptiles out of 29 kinds, mammals out of 21 kinds and amphibians out of 7 kinds which Marmaris National Park inhabits.

Plants: Pinus brutia, Sweetgum, Cypress, Oak, Judas Tree, Bay tree, Myrtle, Phillyrea, Arbutus andrachne, Arbutus unedo, Pisticia terebinthus, Thyme, Sage, Daffodil, Orchid, Hyacinth, Cistus creticus, Sumac, Lavender, Cyclamen

Animals: Short-Toed Eagle, Brown-Hare Rabbit, Golden Eagle, Falcon, Swift, Partridge, Owl, forest birds, Fox, Jackal, Pig, Squirrel, Badger, Marten, Hedgehog, Porcupine, Chameleon, Lizard, Turtle, kinds of Butterflies, kinds of reptilians.
